External skill collections

Curated index of upstream skill collections, marketplaces, and adjacent projects we track. Most are not vendored into this repo — listing them here gives the manual-install path and a recorded vendoring decision.

This page replaces the historical Collections.md at repo root (kept as a stub for backlink stability) and absorbs the "Resources" section that used to live in README.md.

Status enum (single source of truth across the catalog)

Every external-skill or MCP entry below carries a status: value:

Status Meaning Where it links
vendored Already in vendor.yaml. Link to the skills/vendor/<name>/ (or series) entry.
deferred Open TODO P? item — under consideration. Link to the TODO.md anchor.
skipped Looked at, chose not to vendor. Inline reason required (1 sentence).
evaluated Read but no decision recorded. Effectively "tracked." Inline 1-line note describing what was learned.
wishlist Surfaced but not yet evaluated. No link required; default for fresh discoveries.

Status changes are explicit edits — see the Adding catalog entries workflow doc (under Workflows in the nav) for the wishlist → deferred → vendored recipe.

Manual install for non-vendored skills

When a skill is not in vendor.yaml, you can still install it directly from upstream via the npx skills CLI:

# Whole-repo install (if SKILL.md sits at repo root or skills/)
npx skills@latest add <owner>/<repo>

# Subpath install (when the skill is nested)
npx skills@latest add <owner>/<repo>/<path-to-skill-dir>

# Cherry-pick by name
npx skills@latest add <owner>/<repo> -s <skill-name>

# Force deep discovery (skill nested >1 level inside skills/)
npx skills@latest add <owner>/<repo> --full-depth -s <skill-name>

For Anthropic-style plugin marketplaces (e.g. anthropics/financial-services, anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins), use the Claude Code plugin commands instead:

claude plugin marketplace add <owner>/<repo>
claude plugin install <plugin-name>@<repo-name>

For MCP servers, see the per-entry "Auth & install" section in the MCP wiki — install commands vary by transport (HTTP / stdio / SSE) and host (Claude Code / Claude Desktop / Cursor / Managed Agents).

Skills managers

The CLIs / runtimes that install and discover agent skills. The install snippet at the top of this site uses the first one.

Tool Upstream Status Notes
npx skills vercel-labs/skills vendored-as-tool The CLI this repo standardizes on. See npx skills metadata model for how marketplace.json drives the grouped picker.
The Agent Skills Directory skills.sh evaluated Hosted directory of npx skills-compatible skills. Useful for discovery.
Skill.Fish knoxgraeme/skillfish (site) evaluated Alternative skill manager. Not used here; tracked for awareness.

General-purpose collections

Multi-skill repos covering broad engineering / authoring topics. Several are partially vendored (specific skills cherry-picked into vendor.yaml).

Collection Upstream Status Notes
Anthropic's first-party skills anthropics/skills vendored (partial) We vendor skill-creator, frontend-design, webapp-testing, mcp-builder.
Vercel Labs agent skills vercel-labs/agent-skills vendored (partial) We vendor web-design-guidelines into fullstack-nextjs series.
Vercel plugin skills vercel/vercel-plugin vendored (partial) We vendor nextjs, shadcn, react-best-practices, vercel-storage into fullstack-nextjs series.
Supabase agent skills supabase/agent-skills vendored (partial) We vendor supabase and supabase-postgres-best-practices into fullstack-nextjs series.
marimo team skills marimo-team/skills vendored (partial) We vendor marimo-notebook, streamlit-to-marimo, anywidget.
Streamlit agent skills streamlit/agent-skills wishlist Not yet evaluated; mirrors the marimo-team pattern.
Matt Pocock's skills mattpocock/skills vendored (partial) We vendor the 15-skill end-to-end flow (grill → spec → tickets → implement → review) into the engineering-fundamentals series — see reference/mattpocock-skills.md for the flow, the full list, and what we skip.
GarryTan / OpenClaw skills garrytan/gstack vendored (partial) We vendor 4 skills into product-planning series.
poteto's pstack cursor/plugins/pstack evaluated Lauren Tan's 56-skill Cursor plugin (poteto-mode router with 23 playbooks, 24 principle-* skills, 2 agents). Not vendored: skills read siblings and ../../docs/harness/ (which our per-skill sync doesn't copy), and upstream ships several commits a day. Claude Code has an official generated harness tree; install with /plugin marketplace add cursor/plugins then /plugin install pstack@cursor-plugins. No official Codex/OpenCode build. Use a community port: Go7hic/ystack, TheOnlyFusionCube/potetos-for-everyone, or kashyab12/uni-pstack. If we revisit, unslop, benchmark-checklist, and blast-radius are the only standalone skills.
Warp Oz skills warpdotdev/oz-skills vendored (partial) 6 of 15 vendored — see reference/warp-oz-skills.md for what was skipped and why.
199-biotechnologies deep-research 199-biotechnologies/deep-research vendored Single-skill series. See reference/deep-research-landscape.md.
Cloudflare security-audit cloudflare/security-audit-skill vendored Single-skill repo; flat security-audit in its own security picker group. See skills/security-audit.md.
thesysdev OpenUI skill thesysdev/skills vendored Single-skill repo; flat openui in the generative-ui picker group. Gateway-first by default. See skills/openui.md.
The Minimalist Entrepreneur skills slavingia/skills evaluated Skills based on Sahil Lavingia's The Minimalist Entrepreneur. Persona-style; useful as a model for opinionated single-author skill packs.
last30days topic synthesizer mvanhorn/last30days-skill evaluated Researches a topic across Reddit, X, YouTube, HN, Polymarket, web → grounded summary.

Skill candidates (under evaluation)

Reference projects that could become a vendored skill or inform a local one — not formally evaluated yet.

Candidate Upstream Status Notes
Wookstar Tampermonkey plugin henkisdabro/wookstar-claude-plugins skipped Prefer the owned userscript-development workflow for cross-manager lifecycle, fixtures and actual extension comparison; reviewed API reference remains an alternative.
xixu-me userscript skill skills.sh listing evaluated Listing reviewed; canonical repo API returned 404 on 2026-09-09. Installation unverified.
andradeatdev userscript creator skills.sh listing wishlist Content not reviewed; canonical repo API returned 404 on 2026-09-09.
12-factor agents humanlayer/12-factor-agents skipped Canonical methodology, not an installable skill. Not vendored; it is the attributed CC BY-SA source for the local 12-factor-agent-design-review skill.
agent-architecture-analysis existential-birds/beagle skipped Useful evidence gates, but its rubric hard-codes Python/Pydantic/Jinja/REST implementation choices. The framework-neutral evidence pattern is cited as an extension in the local skill.
12-factor agent skill pack tika/12-factor-agent-skills skipped Useful design/review/debug decomposition, but single-skill installs risk missing cross-skill references and the heuristic scanner can report its own source as evidence. Cited as an extension, not vendored.
The Twelve-Factor App 12factor.net evaluated Original 12-factor manifesto. Inspiration source, not a skill.
agent-skill-creator FrancyJGLisboa/agent-skill-creator wishlist Alternative authoring tool; compare with our skill-author + vendored skill-creator.
find-skills vercel-labs/skills/find-skills evaluated Discovery skill from vercel-labs/skills. Useful pattern.

Go CLI/TUI candidates

Reviewed 2026-09-20 using the skills.sh directory, npx skills@1.7.0 find, upstream skill contents, and GitHub repository metadata. Counts below are a dated discovery snapshot, not evidence that a skill produces correct code. We chose the standalone owned go-cli-tui integration; its canonical source now lives in awesome-lazy-tools. These candidates are optional alternatives, not installed dependencies.

Candidate Status Snapshot and decision Manual install
samber/golang-cli skipped ~38K installs; repo 3,284 stars; MIT. Useful CLI foundation, but lacks the combined dashboard/wizard UX; first-party integration also checks terminal detection and Cobra hook ordering explicitly. npx skills@1.7.0 add samber/cc-skills-golang --skill golang-cli
hyperb1iss/tui-design skipped ~1.2K installs; repo 33 stars; MIT. Closest UX overlap, but framework-neutral; choose first-party Go/wizard integration instead of a required second skill. npx skills@1.7.0 add hyperb1iss/hyperskills --skill tui-design
ggprompts/bubbletea skipped 464 installs; repo 21 stars; MIT. Layout ideas are useful, but older APIs and byte-slicing truncation do not meet the chosen version/Unicode contract. npx skills@1.7.0 add ggprompts/tfe --skill bubbletea

Charm and its official repositories are evaluated library/tool sources, not installable agent skills. The owned skill includes a need-to-tool map and version checks; it does not vendor these libraries.

Vendoring policy

We vendor a skill when:

  1. The upstream has stable canonical authority (Vercel for Next.js, Supabase for Supabase, etc.).
  2. The skill fills a gap not already covered by another vendored or local skill.
  3. The license is compatible with the agentskills.io specification.

We do not vendor when:

  • The upstream is itself a marketplace / collection (we cherry-pick instead).
  • Plugin-format collections (e.g., anthropics/knowledge-work-plugins) require claude plugin install rather than npx skills add — we record them here for manual install.
  • The skill duplicates an already-vendored one from a more authoritative source.
  • The skill is too narrow for general use (host-specific, BigQuery-specific, etc.).

For the full workflow — including how to move an entry from wishlist → deferred → vendored — see Adding catalog entries.
